Back for good -
1985 malte ich die Originalversion dieses Bildes in klassischer Technik mit Pinsel, Öl- und anderen Farben auf eine Holzplatte. Es war der erste Versuch, den Rhythmus und die Stimmung der Musik, insbesondere der Rockmusik, durch Malerei einfangen. Seitdem verwende ich diesen Ansatz weiterhin in meinen aktuellen digitalen Bildern.
Das Originalgemälde wurde verkauft, aber ich konnte eine digitale Version erstellen, indem ich ein kleines Foto scannte und es mit Photoshop rekonstruierte. Seitdem habe ich weitere Remakes meiner Originalgemälde erstellt und finde die Möglichkeiten, die digitale Kunst bietet, faszinierend.

In 1985 I painted the original version of this picture using a classic technique with a brush, oil and other paints on a wooden panel. It was my first attempt to capture the rhythm and mood of music, especially rock music, through painting. Since then, I have continued to use this approach in my current digital images.
The original painting was sold, but I managed to create a digital version by scanning a small photo and reconstructing it using Photoshop. Since then, I have created more remakes of my original paintings and I find the possibilities that digital art presents to be fascinating.

Auch dieses Bild stammt usprünglich aus den Achtzigern. Gemalt wurde es mit einem schon recht verschlissenen Pinsel auf einem Stück alter Zeltleinwand. Ich weiß nicht wo dieses Bild geblieben ist, aber ein Foto ist noch da. Gleiches Verfahren: Foto gescannt, mit digitalem Pinsel neu gemalt. Seinerzeit haben mich die Arbeiten von Antoni Tapies interessiert; das wirkt bis heute nach.
This picture also originally comes from the eighties. It was painted with a fairly worn brush on a piece of old tent canvas. I don't know where this picture went, but a photo is still there. Same process: photo scanned, repainted with digital brush.

Noch ein altes Schätzchen. Dies ist aber nicht wirklich ein remake, sondern nur ein leicht digital überarbeitetes Foto des Originals, das allerdings auf Basis eines Fotos entstand. Bei einer Reise durch Niedersachsen fand ich diesen alten VW-Bus in einer Grube in einem Wald, und ich musste ihn einfach fotografieren. Dieses Foto wurde dann ca. 1975 zur Vorlage für das Gemälde mit Öl- und Lackfarben auf Holz.
This is an old treasure. It's not really a remake, but rather a slightly digitally enhanced photo of the original, which was based on a photograph. While travelling through Lower Saxony, I found this old VW bus in a pit in a forest and just had to take a photo of it. This photo was then used as a reference for the painting with oil and lacquer paints on wood, which was created around 1975
