UNKNOWN LEGEND #5
UNKNOWN LEGEND - der Song von Neil Young aus dem Jahr 1992 ist der Auslöser für diese neue Fallstudie – eine Dokumentation der digital gemalten Reaktionen auf den Song, in denen sich Zitate aus der Kunstgeschichte, Emotionen, gesammelte Informationen und persönliche Erinnerungen verbinden.
Illustrationen der Songtexte sind dies aber nicht. Sicher, die Kenntnis des Songs legt das nahe, aber wer ihn nicht im Ohr hat (oder nie etwas von Neil Young gehört hat) ist darum nicht benachteiligt, womöglich sogar von Irritationen befreit, und kann sich leichter auf die Bilder einlassen.
Andererseits ist ein wenig Hintergrundinformation auch nützlich; Google kann da weiterhelfen, und die eigene Phantasie tut ihr Teil dazu.
Unknown Legend #5 steht am Anfang dieser Dokumentation, weil es nach meinem Empfinden den ersten markanten Schritt in der Entwicklung darstellt.

UNKNOWN LEGEND - Neil Young's 1992 song is the catalyst for this new case study – a documentation of digitally painted reactions to the song, combining quotes from art history, emotions, collected information, and personal memories. These are not illustrations of the song's lyrics, however. Sure, knowledge of the song suggests this, but those who don't have it in their heads (or have never heard of Neil Young) aren't disadvantaged by this, and may even be relieved of irritation, allowing them to engage more easily with the images. On the other hand, a little background information is also useful; Google can help, and your own imagination plays a part.
Unknown Legend #5 is at the beginning of this documentation because, in my opinion, it represents the first significant step in development. The path to this point can be followed in the following images (Unknown Legend #2 and Unknown Legend/screenshots).

Und so hat es angefangen: Erinnerungen an gesehene und bewunderte Gemälde alter Meister, von Textelementen provozierte Details, durch Farben und Strukturen erzeugte Stimmungen lassen ein assoziatives Bild enstehen, und der Eindruck der Illustration ist gegeben.
Wenn aber der Anfang gemacht ist, werden schnell weitere Einflüsse aktiviert, in denen die alten Meister genau so eine Rolle spielen wie die die jüngere Kunstgeschichte, Visualisierungen flüchtiger Bildeindrücke, hervorgerufen durch im Gedächtnis gebliebene Literaturfetzen, und - nicht zu vergessen - persönliche Erinnerungen.
And so it began: memories of seen and admired paintings by old masters, details evoked by textual elements, moods created by colors and textures create an associative image, and the impression of the illustration is established.But once the beginning is made, further influences are quickly activated, in which the old masters play just as much a role as recent art history, visualizations of fleeting visual impressions evoked by snatches of literature that have stuck in the mind, and—not to be forgotten—personal memories.

"Unknown Legend" hat inzwischen einen Weg hinter sich, ist eine Sammlung, eine Dokumentation von Reaktionen auf den ursprünglichen Song, aber eins wird deutlich: es ist keine Visualisierung des Textes. Es hat an Eigenständigkeit gewonnen.
"Unknown Legend" has since come a long way; it's a collection, a documentation of reactions to the original song, but one thing is clear: it's not a visualization of the lyrics. It has gained a sense of independence.
UNKNOWN LEGEND #8 / EASY RIDER
Ich beziehe mich oft auf den "Soundtrack Of My Life", wenn ich meine meistgenutzte Quelle nenne, oder auch - um im Jargon der Musikindustrie zu bleiben - auf den schon erwähntenTrack "Ein Blick in die Kunstgeschichte", und da ist noch der track mit den persönlichen Erinnerungen:
Unknown Legend rief die Erinnerung an Peter Fonda's "Easy Rider" wach, und ein Screenshot dieses Films fand den Weg in die Unknown-Legend-Studie. Und so sieht es aus, wenn Tracks gemixt werden.

I often refer to the "Soundtrack Of My Life" when I name my most frequently used source, or - to stay in the jargon of the music industry - to the aforementioned track "A Glimpse into Art History", but there is also a track containing personal memories:
